Daily rates at Economy Parking beat terminal garages at AUH
Economy Parking at Zayed International Airport sits a short shuttle ride from Terminal A and targets long-stay drivers who want lower daily costs than the terminal garages. Signage on the access roads clearly marks the Economy Parking turn-off, so you’re not guessing which ramp to take while watching the clock.
This is a long-stay, outdoor car park with standard bays, not a premium or valet setup, and it connects to Terminal A via a dedicated shuttle that typically runs every few minutes during peak flight banks. Build in 15–20 minutes from locking your car to reaching the check-in desks, including the shuttle ride and a short walk from the drop-off point.
Prices sit in the budget bracket for AUH, with per-day rates noticeably under the terminal-adjacent parking, especially once you cross the 24-hour mark. If you plan to leave your car for 3–7 days, the math usually favors Economy Parking over multiple taxi rides to Zayed International Airport.
The car park uses barrier gates at entry and exit, and you pull a ticket or tap a card at the machine before parking. Keep your ticket in your wallet, not on the dashboard, so you can pay quickly at the pay stations near the shuttle stop before heading back to your car and driving straight to the exit barrier.
Lighting covers the main lanes and shuttle waiting areas, and cameras monitor the entry and exit points, but this is still an open lot in the Abu Dhabi heat. In summer, try to park on an outer row near a shuttle stop to cut down your walk in 40°C weather after a long flight into Terminal A.
Tip: Aim to arrive at Economy Parking at least 30 minutes earlier than you would for a terminal drop-off, to cover the shuttle cycle and any slowdowns on the access roads into AUH.
