Bus 105/106 runs between AMD and central Ahmedabad

AMTS Airport Bus links Sardar Vallabh Patel International Airport (T1/T2) with core city areas for a fraction of cab prices, usually under ₹30–₹40 per person. This is Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service, not a private shuttle, so expect basic city buses rather than luggage racks and airliner logos.

Services typically run from early morning to late evening, roughly 06:00 to around 22:00, but timings shift by route and day. The airport stop sits outside the terminal area on the public road, so you exit arrivals at T1 or T2, walk 3–7 minutes following “City Bus” boards, and wait at the marked AMTS stop with route numbers posted in Gujarati and English.

Fares are paid in cash to the conductor on board, usually in small notes or coins between ₹10 and ₹40 depending on distance. There’s no card or UPI machine on most AMTS buses right now, so pull ₹100–₹200 in small bills from the ATM in arrivals before heading out to the stop. Keep the paper ticket; inspectors do occasional checks on some city segments.

Routes serving the airport generally pass through key spots like Lal Darwaja, Kalupur railway station, or Income Tax Circle within 30–60 minutes, traffic depending. Stops are frequent, often every 500–800 meters, so travel time jumps a lot during evening rush around 18:00–20:30. If your flight from T2 is after 21:30, build a buffer and don’t assume a fast last bus.

AMTS airport buses are standard single-deck city vehicles, often without dedicated luggage space, so big 23 kg suitcases end up in the aisle. Buses can get crowded on office hours around 09:00 and 18:00, which makes boarding with two or more large bags awkward. If you land with family plus multiple check-in bags, consider splitting: one taxi for heavy luggage, one person on AMTS if you’re trying to keep costs down.

One practical tip: grab a screenshot of the latest AMTS airport routes and timings before you fly, then confirm at the airport information desk in T1 or T2 so you’re not guessing route numbers on the curb in 32°C heat.
