BRTS Electric Air-conditioned Bus

Bus

Bus 30 min Rs.50/-

Rs.50 gets you an air-conditioned BRTS bus to town

The BRTS Electric Air-conditioned Bus links Sardar Vallabh Patel International Airport’s T1 and T2 to the city in about 30 minutes, so it often beats sitting in traffic in a cab during peak evening hours. You pay a flat Rs.50 fare, so there’s no haggling and no meter anxiety after a late-night arrival.

Buses run roughly every 30 minutes, so plan around a possible 25–30 minute wait if you miss one at T1 or T2. Services use electric, air-conditioned buses, which matters when you land into 38°C afternoon heat and still have a half hour ride into Ahmedabad.

The bus stops are just outside the terminals, close enough that you can roll a checked bag out of T2 arrivals and reach the BRTS boarding point in around 5 minutes. You pay Rs.50 directly at the stop or on board, which is significantly less than the Rs.250–400 you’d usually see on app cabs into central areas.

Figure 30 minutes of travel time from the airport to main BRTS corridors, but add a 30-minute service gap and you’re looking at 60 minutes total door-to-door on an average day. In heavy evening traffic, the bus often holds that 30-minute run better than taxis stuck off the corridor, which can easily stretch to 45–60 minutes.

The BRTS Electric Air-conditioned Bus suits carry-on travelers best, because overhead racks and floor space get tight if more than 4–5 people board with large 23 kg checked suitcases. If you’re a group of 3 or more paying Rs.50 each, compare that Rs.150+ total to a single cab at Rs.300–350 before you commit.

One practical tip: if your flight lands just after a departure, use the 30-minute gap to hit an airport ATM for small notes, because paying the Rs.50 fare with Rs.500 or Rs.2,000 notes can slow boarding and annoy the conductor.
