Gate-side in T2, this Perfume Shop is one of the few places at Addis Ababa Bole where you can stretch your legs and do real browsing between long-haul connections.
Perfume Shop sits airside in Terminal T2, in the main international departures area used by most Ethiopian Airlines flights. It runs roughly in line with peak bank times, usually open from early-morning departures through late-night red-eyes, so you can swing by on a 02:00 Europe connection or a noon regional hop. You don’t need to leave security, and it’s an easy stop if your gate is in the central section of T2.
Expect mid-range to premium fragrances with prices often slightly higher than downtown Addis, but still reasonable compared to many European hubs. You’ll see big global brands on the shelves, mostly standard 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, along with some gift sets around holiday periods. Stock can be hit-or-miss on less common lines, so have a second choice in mind if you’re looking for something specific.
Payment usually works with major card networks plus US dollars and Ethiopian birr, though smaller notes under 10 USD sometimes get awkward. Staff are used to quick 20–30 minute connection dashes, so testing a couple of scents on strips is realistic even on a short layover. Expect basic samples, not the over-the-top pampering you’d see at Heathrow or Dubai.
One practical tip: take a quick photo of the bottle and price tag before you pay, so if your checked bag is opened at a later security point on arrival, you have something to reference if questions come up.
