Luggage Shop

Luggage fixes and last-minute bags in T2

This small Luggage Shop sits airside in Terminal T2, handy if your checked bag comes off broken or a zipper fails just before an Ethiopian Airlines long-haul. Stock tends to focus on basic suitcases, soft duffels, and a few laptop-ready carry-ons rather than premium brands.

Prices run higher than city shops in Addis Ababa, with simple cabin trolleys often tagged above USD 60 equivalent and larger checked bags pushing past USD 100. You’re paying for location in T2, not value, so treat it as a backup option, not your primary shopping stop.

Most travelers see it open through the main T2 evening departure bank from roughly 18:00 into the late night, then again in the early-morning rush around 03:00–06:00. If you pass through T2 mid-day, expect shorter hours and fewer staff on the floor.

Selection leans toward hard-shell cases and basic combination locks, with some simple backpacks and travel accessories like luggage straps and ID tags near the counter. Don’t expect specialty items like camera cases or high-end business luggage; this is more emergency replacement than fashion upgrade.

Staff usually accept Ethiopian birr and major cards, but payment systems in T2 do go offline now and then, so carry at least 2,000–3,000 ETB cash if you’re worried about a broken wheel. Quick tip: check your handles and wheels as soon as your bag hits the T2 carousel so you still have time to walk back up here before boarding.
