T1

T1’s pub stop sits airside as The Granite City

Past security in Terminal 1 at Aberdeen (ABZ), The Granite City is the main pub-style bar before you hit the gates. It leans into Aberdeen’s “Granite City” nickname with local branding, but the setup is straightforward: taps, spirits, and standard bar snacks rather than a full restaurant. Think quick pint before a Loganair or British Airways departure, not a long sit-down meal.

Reviews mentioning ABZ’s “small bar” and “basic” facilities are almost certainly calling out this place. Expect standard UK airport pricing, with draught pints typically in the £6–£7 range and simple food options like toasties or bar bites when the kitchen is running. If you want a proper meal, you’ll likely end up elsewhere in T1, as The Granite City focuses more on drinks than food.

Choice is limited across the whole airside area at ABZ, so The Granite City often becomes the default meeting point for early evening flights. Seating can fill quickly on weekday peaks around the 17:00–19:00 bank, and you may end up standing with your drink at the high tables. Service pace tracks crowd levels: reasonably quick at 10:00 on a Tuesday, slower when multiple flights to London and Amsterdam board close together.

Tip: clear security at least 45 minutes before boarding time if you want a sit-down drink here; arrive later and you’re probably grabbing a takeaway bottle of water instead of a pint at The Granite City.
