Costa is one of only two food spots after ABZ security
Once you clear security in T1 at Aberdeen, Costa - After Security is basically it for non-bar seating alongside the main bar. It sits airside in the small departures area, so you see it almost as soon as you reach the gates. Think standard UK Costa menu: espresso drinks, teas, hot chocolate, bottled drinks, plus pastries, muffins, and pre-packed sandwiches and toasties. Prices sit at typical airport levels, so expect to pay a bit more than your high-street Costa in town.
Hours usually track the early departures wave, with doors open before the first 06:00–07:00 flights, and staying open into the evening bank of departures. Because T1 at ABZ is compact, there’s no “wrong” gate for this spot; you’re within a 2–3 minute walk of most boarding areas. Seating is basic tables and chairs rather than barstools, which helps if you want 20–30 minutes off your feet before a Flybe-style regional hop.
Watch out for the usual airport Costa issues: higher prices and not many power sockets around the seating area. If you need to charge a laptop for an hour, this isn’t a sure bet. Regular UK flyers often grab a cheaper coffee in town or at a petrol station before heading to ABZ, then only use Costa here as a backup.
Practical tip: if you want coffee at all, stop here right after security, because there’s effectively just this and the bar airside in T1.
