Mei Lin spent sixteen years at Singapore Airlines as cabin crew, mostly on the A380 fleet, mostly on the SIN-LHR and SIN-JFK rotations. She took the early retirement option in 2024 at thirty-nine, which she still describes as both the right decision and the strangest one she has ever made.

She writes for airport.flights as a paid freelance contributor, two pieces a month focused on premium-cabin hospitality, the lounge-to-aircraft hand-off at SIN and the partner hubs SQ flies to, and the broader question of what world-class service standards actually look like when applied to airport ground operations. Her beat is the discipline of premium-cabin hospitality translated into a passenger-facing perspective.

She lives in Bukit Timah, flies SIN as her near-default airport, and tells her former trainees that the only place outside Singapore where she’s seen consistent service standards meet the SQ bar is at HND’s ANA Suite, which she means as both a compliment and a small professional irritation.
