Pleso Prijevoz

Bus

Bus 35-40 min

35–40 minutes from ZAG to Zagreb bus station, no transfers

Pleso Prijevoz runs a direct airport bus from Terminal T1 at Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport to the main city bus station, Autobusni kolodvor, in about 35–40 minutes. It’s a single-seat ride, so you keep your bags with you on the same vehicle instead of changing to trams or local buses in the suburbs.

The bus parks right outside the arrivals area of T1, with clear “Pleso Prijevoz” branding on the side of the coach so you don’t mix it up with local city buses. From the airport, it drops you at Autobusni kolodvor, which sits a few tram stops from the main train station (Glavni kolodvor) and roughly 2 km from Ban Jelačić Square.

Tickets usually cost in the low single digits of euros one way, sold directly by the driver or at the small counter near the exit in T1. You pay in kuna’s successor, the euro (card acceptance varies by vehicle, so keep a few € coins ready). Hold onto the paper ticket; staff sometimes check it again before arrival at Autobusni kolodvor.

Departures line up with flight banks, with early-morning runs timed for first departures and late buses waiting for evening and night arrivals. Typical headways sit around one bus per arriving wave, not a strict every-15-minutes city schedule, so check the current timetable by date and time before you land or leave. First/last bus times shift slightly between winter and summer seasons.

The coaches have luggage bays under the floor, which helps if you’re coming off a longer flight with one or two checked bags. Seats are standard intercity-style with individual backrests and overhead racks for small backpacks. Ride quality is decent on the 10 km or so of airport access road plus city streets, better than cramming into a standing-room-only city bus 290 with suitcases at your feet.

If your flight lands late into ZAG, the Pleso Prijevoz coach often still runs when some local bus connections thin out after about 23:00, so it’s a safer bet than trying to piece together two or three night lines into town. One last tip: sit on the right-hand side of the bus leaving T1 if you want a view of the city skyline as you enter Zagreb proper about 20–25 minutes into the ride.
