Pick-up for Uber is outside Door 16 on Arrivals level
At Calgary International (YYC), all Uber pick-ups for both Domestic and International arrivals happen on the Arrivals roadway near Door 16. Rideshare signage in the terminal points you toward “App Ride Services,” and it’s a short walk from the baggage claim belts on the main level. There is no separate Uber zone per terminal; everything feeds to the same curb area.
Uber operates 24/7 at YYC, and you can usually get a car in 5–10 minutes, even in late evenings. Standard UberX pricing into downtown Calgary often lands in the CAD $30–40 range, depending on traffic and surge. The airport is around 17 km from the downtown core, and the drive typically takes 20–30 minutes outside rush hour.
From the Domestic terminal baggage claim, follow signs for “Arrivals / Ground Transportation” and walk toward Door 16 on the outer roadway. From the International terminal, stay on the same Arrivals level and follow the corridor toward the Domestic side until you see the Door 16 markers and rideshare signs. It’s all under one roof, so you don’t need a shuttle between terminals.
When you request your Uber at YYC, the app will label the pick-up as the airport and usually auto-fill the correct zone near Door 16. Double-check that your in-app pin is on the Arrivals curb, not Departures, and add a quick note like “grey jacket at pillar 5” to help the driver spot you among the line of cars. In winter, wait inside the terminal doors until the car is within 2–3 minutes, then step out.
Compared with the flat-rate airport taxi, Uber can be cheaper during off-peak times but may spike with surge pricing during Flames home games or bad weather. Always check the live fare estimate: if it jumps above CAD $60 to downtown, it’s time to compare against the metered taxi queue or the Route 300 airport bus. For early-morning flights back out of YYC, pre-schedule the Uber ride in the app for a pickup 90–120 minutes before departure.
Practical tip: if you have checked bags, call the Uber only after you see your luggage on the carousel; at YYC they can reach Door 16 quickly, and you don’t want to burn 10 minutes of wait time on a baggage delay.
