Bus rapid transit

Fare is CA$11 one-way from YYC into downtown

Calgary Transit Route 300 is the airport bus rapid transit line linking Calgary International Airport (YYC) to downtown in about 30–35 minutes, traffic permitting. The route stops outside the Domestic and International terminals on the arrivals level, marked as Route 300 Airport BRT. Buses run roughly every 20–30 minutes during the day, with less frequent service early morning and late night.

A single adult fare is CA$11.00 (the airport boarding pass), which covers 90 minutes of travel on buses and CTrain within Calgary. You can buy this fare at YYC vending machines near the bus stop, from select airport retailers, or via the MyFare mobile app before you walk out to the stop. Regular city fares around CA$3.70 do not apply when boarding Route 300 at the airport; you need the higher-priced airport product.

Downtown, Route 300 usually serves key stops like Centre Street and 1 Street SE, putting you a short walk from several CTrain stations on the Red and Blue lines. The ride uses highway segments for part of the trip, which keeps the timing relatively steady compared with local routes. Luggage space is limited to standard bus racks and floor space, so treat this like a city bus, not a coach.

The Route 300 stop at YYC sits on the arrivals roadway near pillar 7 for the Domestic terminal, with posted Calgary Transit signs showing the 300 shield. The same stop serves passengers arriving on both Domestic and International flights, so just follow the generic “Buses & Shuttles” signs down to the curb. The area is fully curbside, so you load directly from the sidewalk; there’s no enclosed waiting room.

Service generally runs from early morning (around 5:00) to late evening (after 23:00), but exact first and last trips shift slightly by day and season. If you land after 22:00, check the current timetable so you don’t miss the day’s last bus. On statutory holidays, schedules can move to a Sunday-level pattern with wider gaps between buses.

One practical tip: buy the CA$11 airport fare on the app while you wait for bags, then walk straight out to the Route 300 stop so you can board the first bus that rolls up.
