Terminal DOMESTIC hosts 5 airlines. It's Air Canada's home turf at YYC. You'll find 2 lounges, 9 shops here.
Most Air Canada and WestJet domestic flights use YYC’s A, B and C concourses
YYC’s Domestic Terminal handles almost all flights within Canada for Air Canada, WestJet, Flair Airlines, Central Mountain Air and Air North, spread across Concourses A, B and the domestic gates in C. Layout is older and more compact than the newer International side, so walking times are usually under 10 minutes between most domestic gates once you’re airside.
Concourses A and B sit on the west side of the building, with domestic C gates extending north from the main spine; signage splits clearly between “Domestic” and “International” because YYC treats them as separate terminals. If you land on a WestJet flight at a B gate and connect to Air Canada from A or C, budget around 15–20 minutes for the walk plus a washroom stop, as you stay within the same secure area.
Security for the Domestic Terminal typically feeds toward Concourses A and B first, with access onward to the domestic C gates after screening. In normal mid-day traffic you can be through security in about 15–25 minutes, but early Monday mornings and late Sunday evenings see longer queues as Calgary-origin business traffic ramps up on WestJet and Air Canada mainline departures.
Food and retail options in the Domestic Terminal skew basic and functional, with pricing aligned to typical Canadian airport levels, so expect to pay around $3–4 CAD for a coffee and $10–20 CAD for a quick-serve meal. The concourses pre-date the international wing, ceilings sit lower, and seating clusters more tightly along the windows, which keeps most options within a short walk of the gates but can feel compressed at peak times.
Lounge access in the Domestic Terminal primarily ties to airline status and premium cabins on Air Canada and WestJet, though exact locations shift as airlines remodel and YYC updates spaces between the Domestic and International terminals. If your ticket or credit card includes access, check your app before arrival and plan to clear security at least 60–75 minutes before boarding to make a lounge stop worthwhile.
Because YYC labels the other building simply as “International,” domestic-to-international connections involve moving from A/B/C into that separate terminal zone, sometimes using a post-security corridor. If you land from a domestic city like Edmonton or Vancouver and connect abroad on the same airline, assume at least 45 minutes of buffer between scheduled arrival and departure to account for walking and wayfinding.
Ground transport for domestic arrivals lines up directly outside the Domestic Terminal arrivals level, with taxis, rideshare pickup and local buses all within about a 5-minute walk from the baggage carousels. If you’re meeting someone, agree on a door number along the curbside, since the Domestic and International exits sit in different sections and can be easily confused by first-timers.
One practical tip: if you have a tight same-terminal connection, stick to the moving walkways along the main Domestic concourse spine and skip the shops until you reach your onward gate; you can usually find a washroom within 50 meters of any A, B or C domestic gate once you’re there.
