T3 newsstand Relay is your last-minute grab spot
Gate-side in Terminal T3, Relay is the standard airport newsstand: snacks, drinks, magazines, and basic travel gear. It sits post-security, so you can swing by after immigration and before heading to your gate. Expect typical mainland chain pricing, not downtown Xi'an levels, but nothing outrageous for an international terminal.
Stock skews toward bottled water, soft drinks, and packaged snacks that travel well. You’ll also see a wall of phone accessories: charging cables, power banks, and cheap earbuds that are good enough for a single 3–5 hour flight. If you forgot a pen for arrival cards, they usually have multipacks near the counter.
Reading material runs mostly in Chinese, with some international magazines and a few English-language titles, better than what you find in T2. Expect a lot of mainstream weeklies and inflight-kill-time books rather than deep catalog. If you want a specific English newspaper, grab whatever they have early; restocking seems to lag later in the day.
Relay in T3 also carries simple travel-sized toiletries: toothbrush kits, tissues, wet wipes, and basic over-the-counter items. It’s not a full pharmacy, so don’t count on anything prescription-like or brand-specific cold medicine. Think “forgot my toothbrush before a 10-hour flight” level, not full medical run.
Tip: buy water and snacks here right after security in T3; some remote or bus-boarding gates at XIY have only vending machines or nothing at all.
