Xi'an Impression

T3

Maps don’t show it, but Xi’an Impression is in T3

Despite almost no online mention, Xi’an Impression operates inside Terminal T3 at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, so treat it as a real, on-the-ground option rather than something you can plan precisely around in advance. You won’t find clear coordinates on Google Maps, Dianping, or the English XIY site, which makes it hard to scout the menu or photos before you fly.

Because T3 handles most international and a chunk of domestic traffic at XIY, expect Xi’an Impression to sit airside in that terminal rather than over in T2 or the newer T5. Plan on standard airport pricing for mainland China: mains in the 50–80 RMB range, soft drinks around 10–20 RMB, and beer closer to 20–30 RMB if they serve it. Build at least 45 minutes between reaching security in T3 and boarding if you want a sit-down meal instead of a grab-and-go snack.

The name strongly hints at local Shaanxi dishes, so noodles like biangbiang and bowls with chili oil and vinegar are a decent bet, even though there are no published menus or photos. Expect counter ordering rather than full table service, and assume basic English at best, so keep 2–3 dish names saved in Chinese on your phone. If prices look posted only in Chinese characters, look for numbers like 28, 38, or 58 next to the dish names to gauge portion and cost quickly.

Because there are zero real traveller reviews, go in with a backup plan in T3, such as heading for a chain café for a sandwich if food quality looks off or if the line is more than 8–10 people deep. Pay by mobile wallet (WeChat Pay or Alipay) or cash; some smaller XIY vendors still reject foreign credit cards. One practical move: eat here before heading to an international gate cluster, since options thin out once you pass the last main T3 shopping zone.
