Long Term Parking at Wellington Airport sits down on Freight Drive at the southern end of the airfield, past the golf club, and runs as a remote, shuttle-only car park. It’s uncovered and fully outdoors, so your car takes the Wellington weather, but you’re still on airport land and using the airport’s own system. Daily drive-up pricing currently sits around $46.00, so the value really starts to show once you’re into multi-day or week-long trips.

The shuttle runs 24/7 between the long-term car park and the main terminal, with the ride taking roughly 10–15 minutes depending on traffic on Stewart Duff Drive. You can’t realistically walk it with bags the way you might from the terminal car parks, so build in shuttle time both ways. The upside: you skip off-airport transfers and stay inside the airport’s own operation the whole way.

Pricing online is tiered: the airport lists $38 for day 1, $66 for 1–2 days, $84 for 2–3 days, then from around day 8–9 extra days drop to about $8 each, which brings the effective daily rate down over a longer stay. Locals on VicDeals say that with pre-booking they’ve sometimes beaten off-airport options even for short trips, and one commenter pointed out it came out cheaper than their usual alternative for a 1–something day run.

The car park is cashless, so you’ll pay by credit/debit card or payWave at the barrier, or by EFTPOS at the pay station near the shuttle waiting room. TravelTalk NZ notes that using the same card you booked with at the barrier speeds up entry and exit because the system recognises your plate and payment. FlyerTalk users do grumble that paying close to $29 per day in the past felt steep for an uncovered, shuttle-dependent lot, so treat it like a pay-more-for-on-airport-convenience trade.

Tip: pre-book online, use the same credit card at the gate, and arrive at least 30 minutes earlier than your usual terminal drop-off time to cover the 10–15 minute shuttle plus any wait.
