Covered Parking at Wellington Airport sits in the main terminal complex, so you’re through the carpark and at the check-in counters in about 1–2 minutes on foot. It’s a short-stay option, aimed at trips of a few days where keeping the car under cover matters more than shaving a few dollars off the bill.

Daily rates run about $58.00, which prices it above the uncovered and off-airport lots but below the hassle of full valet. A FlyerTalk regular even skips valet entirely and just uses the covered carpark as their default, happy with the 5 minute total walk from car to terminal doors and back.

This carpark is on-airport and integrated with the same short-term zone that also includes Valet, Premium, and Uncovered parking, all right by the terminal frontage. No shuttle buses, no waiting around: park, lock, and you’re rolling your bag toward departures in under 5 minutes, even if you’ve got kids or extra luggage.

Regulars tend to pre-book Covered Parking online to undercut the drive-up $58/day rate. TravelTalk NZ notes that if you use the same credit card at the barrier that you used to book, entry and exit scan cleanly and you avoid queuing at a machine. That trick matters in Wellington’s peak morning bank for the 06:00–08:00 departures.

There aren’t many consistent complaints about this lot; the only real gripe is price compared with the uncovered options further out. If you park here more than a few times a year, run the numbers against taking a rideshare for short trips under 3 days.

Tip: Book at least 24 hours ahead online, then drive straight to Covered Parking and tap the same card at the gate to keep the whole park-to-terminal process under 5 minutes.
