Gate-side books in T2
This small Bookstore in Terminal T2 sits past security, handy if you realise at the last minute that you need something for a 10-hour flight. It’s one of the few proper shops in the international side of Hosea Kutako, so expect some browsing competition when multiple departures bank around the same time.
The stock leans heavily toward English-language paperbacks, with a mix of crime, thrillers, and general fiction, plus some Africa-focused titles. Prices run higher than downtown Windhoek: think roughly EUR 10–18 equivalent for a standard paperback. You’ll also spot a few children’s books, which helps if you’re trying to keep a kid occupied between immigration and boarding in T2.
Opening hours track the flight schedule rather than a strict clock, but the store usually opens ahead of morning long-hauls and stays active until the late-evening departures. If you’re on a very late or very early flight from T2, don’t count on it being open; buy in town or online first. Cards are widely accepted, and Namibian dollars are fine for cash.
Selection skew is more random than curated, so don’t expect to find a specific title on demand. Treat it as a “grab-what-looks-good” stop while you wait for boarding calls in T2. Practical tip: walk the shelves once, then commit quickly – boarding at WDH can start 40–50 minutes before departure, and queues form fast.
