Slice counter by Gate A in T1
Right in T1’s main food court near the A-gates, Food Court Pizza is the quick option when you just want a hot slice before boarding. It sits post-security, so you can keep an eye on the departures board while you eat. Seating is shared with the rest of the food court, so snagging a table at peak times around the 06:00–09:00 bank can be hit or miss.
A basic cheese or Margherita slice usually prices in the mid-single euros, with whole pizzas running higher but still under typical big-hub airport levels. Portions run on the thin-crust, European fast-food style rather than US-style giant slices. If you’re trying to keep costs down at VNO, this is often cheaper than grabbing a full plated meal at the sit-down spots in T1.
Service is counter-order, pay, and wait a few minutes while they reheat or finish your pie. At quieter times outside the morning and early-evening waves, you can usually be in and out in under 10 minutes. During the 17:00–20:00 departure rush, lines can stack a bit, and the last slices of a tray can sit for a while under the heat lamps.
Stick to simple toppings: Margherita or pepperoni-style options usually hold up best after reheating. Some of the heavier combos with extra meats or cream sauces can get greasy and soggy by the time you reach your gate, especially if you’re walking all the way down toward A14–A16. Grab a bottled drink from the same counter to avoid a second queue at nearby kiosks.
Tip: if your flight from T1 is already boarding or showing “final call,” skip the whole pie, order a single slice, and ask them to warm it “quick, not extra” so you’re not standing there for another 3–4 minutes while they over-crisp the base.
