Gate-side magazines and snacks before security in T1

Hudson News at Venice Marco Polo Airport sits landside in T1, handy if you’re meeting someone or still sorting check-in. It’s the standard US-style newsstand: shelves of international magazines, paperbacks, and local Italian newspapers plus the usual travel snacks. Expect airport pricing, but a bottle of water or Coke usually runs €2–3, and packaged cookies or chips sit in the €2–5 range.

Hours generally line up with the first and last departures in T1, so think roughly 06:00 to 21:00, but it can open later in winter when the morning bank is lighter. This is one of the few spots landside where you can grab a quick drink and a pack of gum before security if the café queues look long.

You’ll find the usual basics: neck pillows, eyemasks, basic chargers, and EU plug adapters hanging near the counter. A generic Lightning or USB‑C cable typically sits around the €15–25 mark, so if you can buy that in town first, do it. Printed city and lagoon maps of Venice sit by the travel section if you still like paper backups to Google Maps.

There’s a small fridge with soft drinks and sometimes energy drinks; don’t count on much fresh food beyond packaged sandwiches and chocolate bars. If you want a real panino, use the bar in T1 departures and treat Hudson as backup. One last tip: pick up your reading material here before security; post‑security options in VCE shrink quickly once you head toward your specific gate cluster.
