At Venice Marco Polo T1, Bricco is the cafeteria line everyone complains about.

Bricco sits airside in Terminal T1 as a self-service Italian restaurant, but reviews across TripAdvisor put it closer to a fast-food canteen than a sit-down spot. Trays slide along a counter with first courses, mains, and sides laid out under heat lamps. With a $$ price tier, many flyers feel they are paying restaurant prices for something that looks and tastes like workplace cafeteria food.

The menu runs through basic primi and secondi: pasta plates, rice dishes, and chicken cutlets make regular appearances. Multiple TripAdvisor reviews call out undercooked rice and pasta that “tastes little to nothing,” and one reviewer flatly says “the food tastes terrible.” Portions are reasonable, but several guests say quality does not match the bill, which often creeps past €15–€20 once you add a drink and a side.

Service is fast in the literal sense: grab a tray, point at dishes, pay at the till, and you are done in under 5–10 minutes. That speed is the main functional upside people mention. Seating is standard airport tables packed into the T1 food court zone, with little separation from the rest of the terminal. Expect the ambience to feel like a generic canteen more than an Italian restaurant, even though the airport directory labels it as one.

Watch out for: hot dishes that have been sitting, especially rice-based plates and baked pasta. Multiple reviews mention undercooked grains and bland sauces, and several call the overall value “poor” for the quality delivered. If you care about one last good Italian meal before departure from VCE, Bricco is not the place to gamble.

Practical tip: if you end up here in T1, stick to packaged drinks, pre-wrapped snacks, or maybe a simple side like fries, and save your proper meal for Venice itself or a better-reviewed spot elsewhere in the terminal.
