Sun Tran Route 25

City bus

City bus

Bus stop sits just east of the TUS main terminal

Sun Tran Route 25 is the only city bus serving Tucson International Airport, with its stop on the lower level roadway just east of the Main Terminal exit doors. You’ll see the clearly marked Sun Tran sign near the outer curb on the arrivals side, so you don’t have to cross any multi-level structures or use a shuttle to reach it.

Route 25 runs seven days a week and typically hits the airport about every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 60 minutes on Sundays, but always check the current timetable before you bank on it for an early-morning departure. The line connects TUS with downtown Tucson via major corridors like South 6th Avenue, so you’re on a single bus the whole way instead of juggling multiple transfers.

A standard adult fare on Sun Tran Route 25 is usually under $2 one-way, and you pay as you board at the front door. Drivers accept exact cash and SunGO cards, and kids under a specific age often ride discounted or free, so families can move between the airport and city without dropping rideshare-level money. Keep small bills and coins ready; drivers don’t make change.

From TUS, Route 25 typically takes around 35–45 minutes to reach downtown Tucson, depending on traffic along 6th Avenue and time of day. The line ties into other Sun Tran routes at major transfer points near transit centers, so you can keep going toward the University of Arizona area or north-side neighborhoods without touching a taxi.

The bus stop is at the arrivals curb, so if you’re starting from a departure-level drop-off upstairs at the Main Terminal, plan 3–5 extra minutes to ride the escalator or elevator down one level and walk out to the lower roadway. There are basic shelters but not much shade on some stretches of curb, and in Tucson’s summer heat that matters.

Tip: Screenshot the Route 25 timetable before you leave Wi‑Fi at the airport so you’re not guessing headways when you’re standing at the curb in 105°F heat.
