Airport Shuttle

Shuttle

Shuttle 20-30 min NT$100

20–30 minutes door-to-door between TSA Terminal 1 and 2

The Airport Shuttle links Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Taipei Songshan in about 20–30 minutes, which matters if you’re dragging a 23 kg checked bag and don’t want to walk outside. It runs on a fixed loop, so you’re not guessing which stop to use or where to get off.

Shuttle fare is a flat NT$100 per person, paid on the spot, so one adult plus a child still comes in under NT$200. That’s cheaper than flagging a short-hop taxi between terminals, which typically starts around NT$85 on the meter before distance charges.

Frequency is every 30 minutes during operating hours, which pairs well with TSA’s shorter check-in cutoffs of around 40–60 minutes for most domestic flights. Miss one shuttle and you’re usually looking at a 30-minute wait, not an hour-long gap.

The buses pick up and drop off right outside the terminal buildings, close to the main entrances for Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, so you avoid crossing Dunhua North Road or weaving through surface parking. That’s a big plus if you’re juggling two roll-aboards and a laptop bag.

Inside the shuttle, there’s space for standard 62-linear-inch checked bags plus carry-ons, similar to a city bus layout but with dedicated luggage space near the door. Figure that in peak times around 08:00–10:00 and 17:00–19:00 the seats can fill, but standing for a 20-minute ride is still workable.

The Airport Shuttle works best if your layover is at least 60–90 minutes between a Terminal 1 domestic leg and a Terminal 2 international or cross-strait flight. Build that buffer, pay the NT$100, and avoid hauling your suitcase along the sidewalk in Taipei humidity or rain.

  • Cost: NT$100 flat per person
  • Time: 20–30 minutes between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2
  • Frequency: Every 30 minutes on a fixed loop
  • Best use case: Tight-ish connections with checked bags between the two terminals

One last tip: if your connection is under 45 minutes terminal-to-terminal, skip the shuttle and ask ground staff at your airline’s counter in Terminal 1 or 2 if they can rebook you before you move.
