For anyone already staying near an MRT stop like Zhongxiao Fuxing or Technology Building, this is usually quicker and calmer than dealing with taxis in traffic.

The ride into town costs about NT$30, paid with an EasyCard, iPASS, or a single-journey token from the machines by the gates. From Songshan Airport Station, it’s roughly 15–20 minutes to busy interchanges like Nanjing Fuxing or Zhongxiao Fuxing, with one change putting you on the Blue or Green Lines. Trains generally run from around 06:00 to midnight, which covers most flight banks at TSA.

Locals flying out of Taipei Songshan almost always default to the Wenhu Line if they’re headed to or from MRT-heavy areas like Xinyi, Daan, or Neihu. The station is directly attached to the terminal via a short corridor, so you avoid crossing major roads or dealing with separate airport shuttles. With 10–15 minute frequency, they time it so they’re on the platform about 40–50 minutes before check-in cut-off and skip any taxi queue.

Using it is simple: (1) After customs in Terminal 1 or 2, follow signs for “MRT / Metro Wenhu Line.” (2) Walk the marked passageway (around 300–400 meters). (5) For Taipei Main Station, ride about 2–3 stops to a transfer hub like Nanjing Fuxing, then switch to the Green or Blue Line.

One tip: if you land late, check the last-train time at Songshan Airport Station before leaving baggage claim; if it’s close to midnight, you may want a backup like a taxi rather than risk a missed transfer mid-route.
