Near the domestic gates in T1, Tea Trail keeps it basic
Tea Trail sits airside in Terminal T1, handy if you’ve cleared security for a domestic departure from Thiruvananthapuram. Signage just says “Tea Trail” in the small food area, so look for the bright tea counter rather than a full dine-in restaurant. It runs through the main flight bank from early morning to late evening, roughly matching the first and last departures out of T1.
The name is accurate: this place is mostly about tea and quick snacks, not full meals. Expect classic Indian chai by the glass, usually in the ₹40–₹80 range, plus basic coffee options priced slightly higher. You’ll also see packaged biscuits, chips, and a few display-case items that work as a light bite if your flight out of T1 is under two hours and you just need something small.
Food tends to be simple counter-service fare: think samosas, puff pastries, maybe a sandwich or two, all in the ₹80–₹200 band depending on item and size. Portions skew on the smaller side compared with street stalls in Thiruvananthapuram city, but that’s standard airport pricing. Don’t expect a full Kerala meal or anything like a thali here – this is more “grab a chai, grab a snack, move on.”
Seating near Tea Trail is shared with the rest of the T1 waiting area, so you’re usually sitting in standard gate chairs within a few meters of the counter. That makes it easy to keep an eye on boarding screens for domestic flights leaving from nearby gates in T1. Noise levels track the departure peaks, especially around early morning and evening flight waves.
Practical tip: if you want hot tea here before your flight, order it first and then look for a seat; during the 06:00–09:00 rush in T1, queues at Tea Trail can jump from one person to eight in under five minutes.
