Aromas

T2

T2’s main sit-down option sits under the “Aromas” sign

Aromas in Terminal T2 is the primary full-service restaurant once you clear international security at Thiruvananthapuram. It sits landside-adjacent to several gates used by carriers like Air India Express and IndiGo, so you can keep an eye on boarding calls without sprinting. Think standard Indian and basic multicuisine airport fare rather than anything destination-worthy, but it beats a dinner of packet chips outside Gate 3.

Hours typically mirror international departures from T2, with the staff opening ahead of early-morning flights that push out around 03:00–05:00 and staying available for late-night banks around 22:00–01:00. If you have an overnight connection or arrive early for a Gulf run, this is usually the one place where you can actually sit down with hot food instead of chasing a closed kiosk.

Pricing runs higher than city restaurants in Thiruvananthapuram: expect mains in the ₹300–₹600 range, coffee around ₹150, and bottled water at standard airport markups. The menu typically includes South Indian staples like dosa and idli alongside basic North Indian curries and a few international items such as sandwiches or fried rice. If you care about speed, stick to tiffin items or anything they say is “ready in 10 minutes.”

Quality is about what you’d predict from a monopoly restaurant in T2: edible, rarely great, occasionally lukewarm. Turnover is highest on dosa, idli, and tea/coffee during the 06:00–09:00 wave of departures, so those items are usually fresher than the slower-moving curries that sit through the afternoon heat. Skip anything that sounds overly elaborate for an airport kitchen with a small line.

Practical tip: build in at least 30 minutes at Aromas before a T2 flight if you order cooked food; for tight connections under 45 minutes, grab tea, coffee, or a quick snack instead of a full meal.
