Moms Kitchen

T2

T2’s small sit-down option before immigration

About 50 meters before immigration in Terminal T2, Moms Kitchen gives you one of the few chances at a proper sit-down meal airside at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. It’s a basic, no-frills restaurant with formica tables, ceiling fans, and a short printed menu, but it beats trying to make a full dinner out of a packet of chips from the snack kiosk next door.

Moms Kitchen leans toward Kerala-style dishes, with rice meals and curries usually priced in the ₹200–₹400 range, plus tea, coffee, and soft drinks under ₹100. Expect things like veg thali, chicken curry, and simple fried snacks rather than elaborate North Indian or international options. Food comes out reasonably fast for an airport spot, usually within 10–15 minutes, which works even if your check-in cut-off is close.

The restaurant sits on the departure level of T2 after check-in but before you clear immigration and security, so you cannot reach it on an international-to-international transfer without exiting to land-side. If you’re checking in at least 90 minutes before an international flight from T2, it’s realistic to sit down here, eat, and still have a solid 30–40 minutes to get through formalities.

Hygiene is roughly in line with a mid-range city canteen in Kerala: plates are washed properly, and tables usually get wiped down between customers, though at peak evening bank times around 20:00–23:00 they can fall behind. Portions run on the smaller side, so budget for at least one main per person plus an extra side if you’re arriving hungry from a 2–3 hour domestic leg.

Tip: if you want a full meal here, eat first, then head to immigration; lines at T2 can jump from 10 minutes to 30+ without warning, and there’s very limited hot food once you’re past security.
