Dosa under ₹200 right inside T1
You’ll find Dosa Express after security in Terminal T1, in the domestic section used by IndiGo and other Indian carriers. It’s a basic quick-service counter with stainless-steel tables, geared to people trying to eat in 15–20 minutes before boarding. Expect a short, printed menu focused on South Indian staples rather than a long multi-cuisine list.
Pricing sits in the ₹150–₹300 range for most items, with a plain dosa often around ₹150 and masala dosa a bit higher. That’s cheaper than many full-service spots at TRV, though still airport-marked compared to the city. Portion sizes are decent for a light meal, and one dosa is usually enough if you’re flying soon and don’t want to feel too full.
The menu typically covers dosa, idli, vada, and filter coffee, plus a few soft drinks in 300 ml or 500 ml bottles. Sambar and chutneys can be hit or miss at airport counters across India, so scan other tables to see how fresh they look before ordering. If you’re sensitive to spice, say “less spicy” when you place your dosa order; staff handle dozens of orders per hour and default seasoning can run hot.
Service speed is the main selling point: most dosas come out in about 7–10 minutes, even during morning banks of flights when T1 crowds up. Seating is first-come, first-served, and it’s not unusual around the 07:00–09:00 departures to see people standing at the counter with their plates.
Plan your stop here right after clearing security in T1, before you walk all the way to the far gates; it’s easier to eat calmly then do a 5–10 minute stroll to boarding than to backtrack with a final call echoing over the PA.
