Ingredienti

Main

Pre-security hot food at TRN before you hit T1 checks

Ingredienti sits landside in Turin Airport’s main building, just before you head toward the T1 security lanes, and it’s one of the few spots there that serves more than espresso and a cornetto. If you’re getting dropped off early by taxi or train and don’t want to rush through controls, this is the place to sit down, grab something warm, and sort yourself out before joining the queues upstairs.

Hours vary a bit with the first and last departures, but Ingredienti typically opens in the early morning around the first wave of flights and stays open into the evening bank. Expect simple Italian bar food: sandwiches, focaccia, basic pasta, salads, plus the usual coffee, soft drinks, and bottled water. Prices sit in standard Italian airport territory: an espresso around €1.50–€2, sandwiches in the €5–€8 range, and hot dishes a little higher.

Being landside, Ingredienti works well if you’re meeting someone arriving into TRN and want to wait with a drink before they clear baggage and customs. It’s also useful if you need to reorganize bags to meet the 8 kg cabin allowance many European carriers use, since you can spread out a bit more here than at the T1 gate areas. Power outlets are hit or miss, so bring a battery pack if your phone is under 30%.

Food quality is on par with a typical Italian motorway service area: fine for a plate of pasta or a panino, less so if you’re expecting restaurant-level cooking. You’ll usually pay at the main till first, then take your receipt to the counter for coffee or food, which speeds things up when there’s a 10–15 person line. Don’t count on specialty options like gluten-free or vegan mains; if you need those, plan on a salad and bottled drink.

Tip: if your check-in opens two hours before departure, aim to eat at Ingredienti about 2.5–3 hours out, then head straight to security so you’re at your T1 gate at least 45 minutes before boarding.
