Point

Frequent flyers barely mention Point, which already tells a story

Trondheim Airport Værnes is small, with just terminals A and B, and Point sits in that “grab something and go” category locals don’t really talk about. You’re not planning a long sit-down here; you’re filling a gap before a 45‑minute hop to Oslo or a Widerøe dash up the coast. Treat it like a generic Nordic airport café bar: quick coffee, basic food, high prices.

Expect standard airport pricing: a simple sandwich or salad easily lands in the 80–140 NOK range, and a coffee can run 35–50 NOK. Point fits that pattern. You pay for being inside TRD’s secure area, not for anything memorable. If you care about value, eat in Trondheim city first, then just use Point for a drink or a snack top‑up before a late‑evening departure.

Security at TRD is usually straightforward, and once you’re into A/B you’re never more than a 5–7 minute walk from any gate, so Point works as a last‑minute stop. Check your boarding pass: SAS and Norwegian Schengen flights typically leave from A or B, and you can still grab something here within 15 minutes of boarding start. Just time it so you’re not stuck in line when they call final passengers by name.

Foodwise, aim for items that look recently prepared and boxed the same day: cold sandwiches, wraps, or salads are usually safer than something sitting under a heat lamp. TRD’s turnover is decent on weekday mornings from 06:00–09:00 when business flights spike, so early in the day is your best bet. If it’s a quiet Sunday night after 21:00, keep expectations low on anything hot.

Practical tip: buy your bottled water or soft drink at Point in one go; at 40–50 NOK a bottle, it’s cheaper than rejoining a queue later when your gate suddenly switches between A and B with 20 minutes to departure.
