7-Eleven

5–10 minutes through security means 7-Eleven is your meal stop

Trondheim Værnes runs fast: locals report 5–10 minutes at security, so most people don’t linger in Terminal A or B for a long sit-down. The 7-Eleven counter fits that rhythm, handing over sandwiches, pastries, and drinks in under two minutes when there’s no line. Think Norwegian convenience store standards, just moved airside.

This is a grab-and-go spot rather than a table-and-server setup, so plan to eat at the gate in A or B. Expect typical 7-Eleven pricing for Norway: a basic hot dog or baguette lands around 40–70 NOK, bottled soft drinks or water around 30–45 NOK, and coffee a bit cheaper if you bring your own reusable cup. Card and contactless both work, including foreign Visa and Mastercard.

Food is standard issue: pre-made baguettes, wraps, yogurts, and pastries in the chilled case, hot dogs on rollers, plus chocolate bars from brands you see all over Norway. If you want something vaguely filling before a 1–2 hour domestic hop, the baguette or wrap beats the pastry case. For very early departures before 07:00, you’ll usually still find coffee and a few buns ready to go.

Drinks are the strong point here. You get cold cans and bottles, sugar-free options, energy drinks like Red Bull, and basic 0.5L water bottles that are cheaper than at many Scandinavian airport cafés by 5–10 NOK. If you just need a quick caffeine hit before a 45-minute morning flight to Oslo, the filter coffee is fine and comes in multiple sizes.

Tip: clear security first, then hit 7-Eleven on the way to your gate so you can keep that 5–10 minute TRD buffer instead of backtracking through the terminal.
