T2’s main Tasa Meng Duty Free is hard to miss
This shop dominates the central retail zone of Terminal T2 after immigration, so you walk past it on the way to most B and C gates. Shelves run long with liquor, tobacco, skincare, cosmetics, and the usual perfume brands. Prices generally beat downtown Taipei department stores by a noticeable margin, especially on larger spirits bottles and multi-pack skincare sets. Staff speak Mandarin, English, and usually some Japanese or Korean, which helps if you want quick comparisons.
You’ll see the classic Taiwanese souvenir stock here: pineapple cakes in gift boxes, local teas from brands you also find in Taipei, and snacks like nougat candies and dried fruits. Duty free cigarettes and liquor sit in clearly marked sections with posted allowances for Japan, USA, and EU routes, useful if you’re not sure what’s legal to carry. Most items scan slightly cheaper than in T1’s duty free, but the difference is small enough that it rarely justifies a terminal hop.
Payment is easy: credit cards, UnionPay, Alipay, and cash in TWD all work, and minimum spend for card payments usually starts around NT$300. They’ll bag items with tamper-evident seals for transits beyond TPE, which matters if you’re connecting onward to the US, Australia, or Europe on carriers like EVA or China Airlines. Receipts clearly list your flight and passport number, so keep them handy for customs checks on arrival.
One practical tip: if your gate is C8 or beyond, shop here first before walking down the long pier, as smaller satellite duty free units closer to the gate often have thinner stock and fewer promo bundles than the main T2 Tasa Meng store.
