Route 32 runs from TPA’s Main Terminal to downtown Tampa

HART Route 32 is the local bus linking Tampa International Airport’s Main Terminal with downtown Tampa and the Netpark Transfer Center. Buses stop at the airport’s Rental Car Center, which you reach from the Main Terminal by the free SkyConnect train in about 5 minutes. This route is part of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) system, so regular HART fares apply.

A standard HART one-way fare on Route 32 is usually under $3, and you pay as you board using cash or a HART payment option. The bus serves the airport every day, but you should check HART’s current schedule for exact first and last trip times, since weekend and holiday service can differ. Plan a few extra minutes at the Rental Car Center in case you need to buy a pass from a HART machine before the bus arrives.

From the airport, Route 32 heads into Tampa along I-275 and local streets, continuing past downtown to the Netpark Transfer Center on 56th Street. The full ride from the Rental Car Center to central downtown usually runs around 30–45 minutes depending on traffic and time of day. The same route runs in reverse from Netpark and downtown back to Tampa International Airport’s Rental Car Center stop.

To board from the airport, ride SkyConnect from the Main Terminal to the Rental Car Center, then follow signs to the HART bus stops on the ground level. Look specifically for the stop labeled for Route 32 so you do not accidentally take another local route. If you are coming from downtown or Netpark, stay on the bus until the Tampa International Airport Rental Car Center stop is called or shown on the onboard display.

Step-by-step from Main Terminal to downtown on HART Route 32:

  • 1. From any Airside, ride the airport people mover back to the Main Terminal in about 2–3 minutes.
  • 2. In the Main Terminal, follow signs for “Rental Car Center / SkyConnect” and board the free SkyConnect train; the ride takes about 5 minutes.
  • 3. At the Rental Car Center, go down to the ground level and follow the “Public Bus / HART” signs to the marked HART bus bays.
  • 4. Find the posted timetable for HART Route 32 and wait at the correct bay; confirm “32” on the front of the bus when it pulls in.
  • 5. Pay the standard HART fare (typically under $3) as you board, using exact cash or a HART-approved payment card or pass.
  • 6. Ride 30–45 minutes to downtown Tampa, then exit at your chosen downtown stop; ask the driver in advance if you need a specific cross street.
  • 7. For the return trip, catch Route 32 from the same side of the street you got off, ride back to the Tampa International Airport Rental Car Center stop, then take SkyConnect and the people mover back to your Airside gate.

One practical tip: print or screenshot the current Route 32 schedule from HART before you land at TPA so you are not dependent on airport Wi‑Fi at the Rental Car Center when timing your bus.
