Bus 30 runs between TPA’s Main Terminal and downtown Tampa

HART Route 30 connects Tampa International Airport’s Main Terminal to downtown Tampa, with regular local-bus service instead of an express setup. The service is part of Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART), and you board at the airport’s ground transportation area, not curbside at departures.

The bus runs on a fixed route between the airport and central Tampa points, so budget extra time versus a rideshare or taxi. As a local bus, Route 30 makes multiple stops along the way into downtown, and it shares the load with other HART services that also touch the airport and Westshore area.

You pay standard HART local-bus fares on Route 30, using either cash at the farebox or HART’s accepted passes and cards. Single-ride local fares sit well under typical rideshare prices from TPA to downtown, especially during peak times, and you don’t pay any airport surcharge on the bus itself.

From the Main Terminal, follow signs to ground transportation and public buses; the pickup point is in the same general zone as rental-car shuttles and hotel shuttles. Route 30 boards at a marked HART stop, so check the sign for the route number before you queue up, especially when multiple buses pull in at the same bay.

Route 30 operates on a published schedule, with fixed departure times listed by HART for both airport and downtown stops. Late evenings, early mornings, and Sundays usually see fewer trips compared with weekday daytime runs, so it’s smart to line up your flight arrival with the timetable to avoid a long wait on the curb.

If you’re catching Route 30 after landing at TPA’s Main Terminal, factor in at least 15–20 minutes to ride the airport people mover, collect any checked bags, and walk to the bus stop before your planned departure time. One practical tip: screenshot the current HART Route 30 schedule before you fly, so you’re not stuck hunting for cell signal at the curb.
