Gate-side books and mags right in Terminal 1
Relay sits airside in Terminal 1, handy if you’ve just cleared security and don’t want to double back toward duty free. It’s the main cultural/news shop in this part of TLS, so this is where you grab reading material before a Schengen hop to Paris or a UK flight. Expect French titles first, with a smaller English section tucked in beside the travel guides.
Opening hours usually track the mainstream departure bank from around 06:00 into the evening, but it can close earlier on quieter weekend nights. Prices for paperbacks hover around standard French high-street rates, so roughly €10–€15 for most pocket novels, with magazines a few euros each. You’ll also see basic stationery racks and last-minute cables sitting right next to the newspaper stand.
The cultural angle is mostly books on France, Occitanie and Toulouse itself, plus racks of local postcards with Garonne, Airbus and rugby shots. If you’re short on time at the city’s Librairie Ombres Blanches, this is a decent airport backup for a quick Michel Houellebecq or Fred Vargas in pocket format. Kid sections are small but there’s usually a BD (bande dessinée) shelf with at least a few Astérix volumes.
Stock turns over in line with school holidays and summer peaks, so don’t count on finding a specific back issue from last month. One practical move: grab what you need here in Terminal 1 before walking to your gate cluster; a lot of piers at TLS have just vending machines and no extra bookstands.
