Gate-side groceries near Terminal 1 security

Right after security in Terminal 1, Carrefour Express works like a small city supermarket dropped into the airport. It’s airside, so you can grab food after clearing checks and head straight to your gate. The focus is everyday French basics: bottled water, soft drinks, juice, crisps, sandwiches, salads, yogurts, and a wall of chocolate and biscuits. You’ll also see a few fresh bakery items and single-serve fruit, which beat another overpriced snack box on board.

Prices run higher than a normal Carrefour in Toulouse, but still under what many cafés in the terminal ask; a 1.5L water and a basic sandwich usually come in cheaper than a sit-down menu item. Alcohol is limited to standard beers and mini wine bottles in the chiller, not duty-free style stock. Payment is straightforward: cards accepted, contactless works, and self-checkout lanes help when the single staffed till has a queue. Figure five minutes in and out if you know what you want.

Stock skews to short-haul survival rather than full-on grocery: think 200 g chocolate bars, 4-pack yogurts, small toiletry kits, baby wipes, and phone chargers. If you need last-minute toothpaste, deodorant, or over-the-counter basics, check the small personal care shelf before you head back landside. One annoyance: cold snacks can sell out in the evening departure wave after 18:00, especially simple ham-and-butter sandwiches.

Fastest move: hit Carrefour Express for water and snacks as soon as you enter Terminal 1 airside, before you get tempted into a slower sit-down spot closer to the gates.
