After midnight in TIJ’s Terminal 1, Wings is still serving

In the Main Terminal at TIJ, Wings is one of only three food concessions listed as open 24 hours, so it becomes the de facto sit-down option once most places close around midnight. It sits airside in Terminal 1, handy for late Volaris departures and CBX users who clear security early. Expect a standard Mexican airport chain restaurant layout: tables, a bar, TV screens, and a menu heavy on burgers, wings, and basic mains.

The hook here is timing, not cuisine. Reviews land in the “mediocre but passable” range, with several calling out bar-style food that doesn’t match the higher airport prices; plan on 180–300 MXN for a basic plate and more if you add a couple of beers. One traveller summed it up at 2:00 a.m.: beer and wings before a red-eye and not much else open. If you care more about quality than convenience, eat in Tijuana city or at CBX before you cross and treat Wings as a backup.

Regulars on CBX and late-night Volaris flights often walk straight here after security for a drink and something substantial when their departures sit in the 00:00–04:00 window. Common strategy: keep it simple with fries, basic wings, or a burger, and pair it with a draft beer or house cocktail. Several flyers say the more elaborate dishes come out inconsistent, so expectations should stay at chain-sports-bar level.

Watch out for slow service when the late-night departure bank hits between roughly 23:00 and 02:00 and the dining room suddenly fills. Multiple reports mention waiting 20–30 minutes or more for food once boarding calls start for several gates at once, and the check can also lag. Build at least a 60-minute buffer before boarding if you plan a full meal here, and if you are tight on time, stick to drinks and shared snacks at the bar instead of full entrees.

Tip: Landing hungry at 3:00 a.m. in Terminal 1 with everything dark? Walk airside toward the main cluster of gates in the Main Terminal; if the lights are on and you see people with beer glasses, that’s almost certainly Wings still running its 24-hour operation.
