La Subway

Near the Main Terminal food court, La Subway keeps things predictable.

This is a standard Subway-branded counter inside TIJ’s Main Terminal, past security, so you can grab a sub after clearing screening but before heading to domestic or CBX gates. You order at the counter, watch the sandwich build, then pay at the register; no table service, just basic shared seating with the rest of the food court.

Bread, meats, and sauces match what you see at streetside Subways: 15 cm and 30 cm subs, basic salads, and a few combo deals with fountain drinks. Prices run a bit higher than in-town stores, with most 30 cm sandwiches landing in the MXN $130–$180 band depending on fillings. Footlong combos with drink and chips trend closer to MXN $200, still cheaper than many sit-down spots in TIJ.

Good call for early or late flights: airport Subways often open around 06:00 and stay running to at least 22:00, and this location typically tracks similar hours. That means you can snag a cold-cut sub and coffee before a 07:30 departure or grab a meatball marinara before a 21:45 departure to Mexico City. If you’re walking over from the CBX bridge, factor in about 10–15 minutes from CBX security to the Main Terminal food court.

Order something that holds up if you plan to take it to the gate. Toasted sandwiches with less sauce, like turkey, ham, or Subway Club, travel better than tuna or meatball, which can go soggy in 15–20 minutes. Adding extra veggies doesn’t cost much and helps offset the usual airport-carb overload; you still get the standard tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and jalapeños lineup at no surcharge.

Practical tip: lines spike roughly 45 minutes before big departures, so if your boarding pass shows a narrow 40-minute boarding window, grab your sandwich first, then walk to the gate with it in hand.
