Italianni's

Gate-side Italian chain option before security lines build

Italianni's sits in the public area of TIJ’s Main Terminal, so you can eat here even if you’re meeting someone off a flight or crossing via CBX later. It runs typical mall-restaurant hours, roughly opening by breakfast time and staying open into the late evening when the last domestic departures go out. Being landside, it works well if you arrive at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and want a sit-down meal before security.

The menu follows the standard Italianni's playbook: big pasta plates, pizzas, salads, and a few meat dishes, with mains generally landing in the 200–350 MXN range. Portions are large by airport standards, so one pasta or pizza can easily feed one hungry traveler or two light eaters. Expect bottomless soft drinks, standard coffee, and beer and wine by the glass, all priced in line with other chain restaurants in Tijuana.

If you’re trying to keep it simple before a late-night red-eye, the spaghetti Bolognese and basic pepperoni pizza are usually the lowest-risk orders at Italianni's locations across Mexico. Starters like garlic bread and bruschetta come out faster, useful if you’re watching a boarding time on the departures screen across the hall. Desserts tend to be heavy, US-style—share a slice of cheesecake if you have at least 45 minutes before boarding from the Main Terminal gates.

Service at Italianni's is sit-down with table service, so build in extra time; count on 15–20 minutes for a pizza or pasta during peak evening departures to Mexico City and Guadalajara. There’s a printed kids’ menu with smaller pasta portions and fries, which can help if you’re wrangling children after a long CBX border walk. They take major credit cards and pesos, and sometimes accept US dollars at a basic counter rate, though change usually comes back in MXN.

Tip: if your flight leaves from the CBX side, eat here first on the Mexico terminal side, then allow at least 30 minutes to walk the bridge and clear US formalities.
