Gate-side caffeine fix before Main Terminal security at TIJ

Café Punta del Cielo sits in the public area of General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport’s Main Terminal, so you can grab coffee before checking in or meeting someone at arrivals. It’s a Mexican chain, so the menu feels familiar if you’ve seen it in Mexico City, Monterrey, or Guadalajara airports.

The core order here is coffee: espresso, americanos, and lattes usually land in the MX$50–80 range depending on size and extras. Beans are roasted by the brand, and the espresso runs on the stronger, slightly bitter side compared to Starbucks across Mexican airports. If you need something cold, their iced lattes and frappé-style drinks run closer to MX$70–90.

Food is mainly grab-and-go: think packaged sandwiches, sweet breads, and cookies, typically around MX$40–90 per item. Don’t expect cooked-to-order eggs or hot plates; this is more “coffee plus something to hold you over for a 1–2 hour flight” than a full breakfast stop. Prices track with standard airport markup across TIJ’s Main Terminal.

Hours vary with traffic, but plan on early-morning opening around 5:00 and closing in the late evening when the last Main Terminal departures wind down. If you have a late CBX crossing, confirm before banking on a final espresso hit; CBX itself has separate options once you’re on the US side.

There’s limited seating, usually a handful of tables in front of the counter, and many people just grab their drinks in to-go cups and head to airline check-in counters for Aeroméxico, Volaris, or Viva Aerobus. Power outlets are hit-or-miss, so don’t count on a full laptop work session here.

Tip: If you care about speed, order basic drip coffee or an americano; those usually come out in under 3 minutes, while more elaborate blended drinks can slow you down when there’s a morning rush around 6:00–8:00.
