Airside, immediately after security control to the right, General Abelardo L. Rodriguez International Airport (Tijuana, MX)

Main Terminal signage sometimes lists Banamex Premier as a bank lounge.

The Banamex Premier Lounge at TIJ sits in the Main Terminal, and functions more like a private banking space than a classic airline club. Access usually runs through Banamex/Citibanamex premium accounts or credit cards, so walk-up paid entry is unlikely. If you hold a Banamex Premier product tied to Mexico, check your card benefits before your flight out of General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport.

TIJ effectively works as a single Main Terminal with the CBX cross-border facility attached, so expect this lounge on the Mexico side rather than in CBX. That means CBX-only passengers walking directly from the U.S. side may not be able to backtrack to it once through the dedicated corridor. If you’re starting on the Mexico side and using CBX later, you’d visit the lounge before crossing to the U.S.

Most Banamex Premier spaces in Mexico keep typical bank hours, roughly 09:00–17:00 on weekdays, so don’t count on this lounge for a late-night Volaris or Viva Aerobus departure. TIJ has many red-eye flights after 22:00, and you’ll likely be in the public concourse or at the gate at those times. For early morning flights before 08:00, assume the doors are closed until you see posted hours on-site.

Food and drink in bank lounges like this usually means light self-serve snacks, coffee from a basic machine, and bottled water, not a hot buffet. Expect a couple of cookie or nut options and standard drip-style coffee rather than barista service. With most concourse cafes at TIJ selling coffee in the MXN $45–$70 range, it can still save a few pesos if you already qualify for free access.

Seating in similar Banamex Premier rooms in Mexican airports tends to be simple armchairs and small tables, enough for a laptop and carry-on but not the lie-flat recliners you’d see in a premium airline lounge. Wi‑Fi is typically free and runs well enough for email and light streaming, though you should expect a standard branch-style router rather than enterprise airport-grade networks. Power outlets are usually along the walls, so plan your charging cable length accordingly.

Because TIJ’s official site and common lounge aggregators don’t clearly list this space, treat it as a bonus rather than an anchor for your schedule. Build in a 10–15 minute cushion to locate it in the Main Terminal, and have a backup plan to use a regular café if you find the door locked or access limited to certain Banamex account tiers.
