Aelia Duty Free sits just past security in T1
You hit Aelia Duty Free right after security in T1, before the main gate cluster. It’s your standard walk-through shop: liquor, perfume, chocolate, local souvenirs, plus some travel basics. Shelves lean heavily on big European brands rather than niche labels, but you’ll find Albanian raki and local wines alongside the usual Johnnie Walker and Absolut.
Liquor promos often run around the €15–€25 mark for mid-range bottles, with cartons of cigarettes priced lower than downtown Tirana. Cosmetics skew to L’Oréal, Dior, Chanel and similar duty free staples. Chocolate walls stack Toblerone, Lindt, and Milka in 200 g up to 1 kg gift packs, which work if you forgot presents in the city and are boarding out of T1 in a hurry.
The shop also carries fridge magnets, small flags, and “Tirana” mugs, most under €10, plus some kids’ toys and branded football items. There’s a modest snack section with chips, Pringles, and 0.5 L bottled water, handy if you’re headed to a bus boarding from T1 and didn’t stock up airside. Card payments are standard, and prices show both euros and lek.
Figure 5–10 minutes to walk through Aelia Duty Free if you’re just grabbing raki and chocolate. Build 15–20 minutes if you want to compare spirits or fragrance prices. Tip: check the promo end-caps near the liquor section first; that’s usually where the only real bargains sit.
