Air Café

★ 4 $$$$

Gate-near coffee stop in T1 when boarding is soon

Air Café sits airside in Terminal T1 at Tirana International, priced at typical airport levels that feel high versus Tirana city but normal for TIA. Figure on paying around €2.50–€3 for an espresso drink and more for beer or wine. The setup is standard bar-café: counter service, glass case with snacks, and bar seating that works as a last-minute stop before heading to your gate.

The menu sticks to basics: espresso, cappuccino, soft drinks, bottled water, a few beers, and pre-packaged snacks like chips and pastries. One reviewer called the cappuccino “average quality but convenient,” which is about right. Nothing here tries to be specialty coffee; treat it as a caffeine or cold drink pit stop, not a destination café. Food portions are small and grab-and-go, so don’t plan on a full lunch.

Service runs to match the flight bank, with Air Café typically open from early morning departures through the late evening departures bank, roughly 06:00 to 22:00, though hours can slide with the schedule. Seating is limited and right by the circulation path, so at peak times before those 06:30–08:30 departures seats go fast. Expect to stand at the bar or carry your drink back toward your gate area if it’s crowded.

Regulars say they mainly use Air Café when their gate is close and they don’t want to walk back toward the main cluster of cafés near central security in T1. That matches the layout: if your boarding pass shows a nearby gate and you have 15–20 minutes, it saves a backtrack. If you’re parked at a distant gate and have 45+ minutes, you can compare prices and options elsewhere in the terminal.

Practical tip: pay in euros or by card, skip the pricier snacks, and just grab a quick coffee or beer here if your gate is within a two-minute walk and boarding starts soon.
