Rideshare

Meter starts around €15 from TFN to central Santa Cruz

Uber runs at Tenerife Norte (TFN) as a standard app-based rideshare, and a typical ride to Santa Cruz de Tenerife sits in the €15–€25 range depending on traffic and time of day. You request pickup from the main terminal T arrivals curb, not from departures upstairs.

After landing at TFN’s single terminal T, collect bags on the ground floor and walk straight out of the arrivals hall to the signed public pickup zone about 50–100 meters from the door. The app may show “Tenerife Norte – Ciudad de La Laguna Airport” or “TFN” as the pickup point; pin the map to the curb so your driver doesn’t circle the parking garage.

Ride times from TFN clock in at about 15–25 minutes to Santa Cruz (15 km), 10–15 minutes to La Laguna (4–6 km), and 45–60 minutes to Costa Adeje or Playa de las Américas on the south coast (80–90 km). Surge pricing shows up most often around 07:00–09:00 and 19:00–21:00 when inter-island flights stack up.

Uber at TFN works best if you add a note in Spanish in the app like “salidas” or “llegadas” to confirm upper or lower level, even though the main rideshare pickup is usually by arrivals. Many drivers use smaller cars, so if you have 3–4 checked bags or ski-sized cases, choose UberXL where available or plan on two cars for 4 people.

Payment runs entirely through the app in euros, and most TFN–Santa Cruz runs price below €25 outside peak hours. Check the estimated fare before confirming; if you see more than €50 quoted for a short hop to La Laguna, wait five minutes and refresh, as short surges at TFN tend to drop fast.

Late nights after 23:00, Uber supply out of TFN thins, and wait times can hit 15–25 minutes instead of the daytime 3–8 minutes. If your flight lands after midnight, open the app as soon as the wheels touch and request while you’re still taxiing to shave off a few minutes.

Last tip: drop a pin at your exact entrance when returning to TFN so the driver heads straight to terminal T departures; aim for the upper-level drop zone by the check-in doors to avoid dragging bags from the far end of the curb.
