La Pausa Express

Gate-side in Terminal T, La Pausa Express covers quick bites

Right in Terminal T after security, La Pausa Express sits in the main departures area at Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport, so you see it on the walk to most gates. It runs during standard flight banks, roughly early morning through late evening, matching the first and last departures from TFN. If you only have 20–30 minutes before boarding, this is the safest bet to grab food without leaving the gate area.

La Pausa Express runs on a fast-casual model with counter service and self-service fridges. Expect pre-made sandwiches, pastries, and basic hot items, with prices higher than town but normal for a Spanish airport. A sandwich and coffee usually land around €8–€10, and bottled water sits in the €1.50–€2.50 range. Card payments are standard, and contactless works fine for under-€50 tickets.

Food skews simple: think baguette sandwiches with ham and cheese, tortilla española slices, croissants, and basic salads. Coffee is espresso-based in typical Spanish style, so you can get a café solo, cortado, or café con leche in the €1.50–€3 window. If your flight leaves before 09:00, this is one of the few spots in TFN where you can count on a hot drink and something sweet or savory in your hand by boarding.

Seating is limited to a small cluster of tables plus some shared stools near the counter, so during midday departures around 12:00–15:00 you may end up eating at the gate. It works best as a grab-and-go stop: pick up a sandwich, a bag of chips, and a drink, then camp at your actual gate, especially for busy flights to Madrid or Barcelona.

Tip: lines spike about 30 minutes before each Iberia and Binter departure bank, so if you can, buy your coffee and food as soon as you clear security rather than waiting for your gate to post.
