Near gate T departures, Café Careca covers the basics fast.
Café Careca sits airside in Terminal T at Tenerife Norte, just past security by the main departures hall. It runs through the core flight banks, usually opening early morning for the 06:00 crowd and staying open into the late evening departures. This is the grab-a-bite-and-go option when you don’t want to leave the gate area or deal with a full-service restaurant.
The menu leans on Spanish café standards: café con leche, cortado, simple sandwiches, and pastries. Expect prices a bit higher than town but normal for TFN: a coffee lands around €2–€3, and a basic sandwich tends to sit in the €4–€6 range. Quality is fine for a short layover — nothing you’d cross the island for, but acceptable between inter-island hops.
Food is mostly pre-made and displayed in the counter fridge, so service stays quick even when several flights board at once. You’ll usually see ham-and-cheese baguettes, mixed bocadillos, and sweet options like croissants and small cakes. Hot food choices are limited, so if you want a full hot meal before a 3+ hour flight, you may be happier eating in town and just grabbing a drink here.
Seating sits directly in the shared departures zone, with a handful of café tables close to the counter and more shared benches nearby. Power outlets are hit-or-miss, so charge your laptop or phone elsewhere in T if you need a guaranteed plug. Card payments are widely accepted, and staff move the line quickly during the morning 07:00–09:00 crunch.
Practical tip: if your flight leaves before 08:00, plan 10 extra minutes at Café Careca for the coffee queue; later in the day you can usually walk up, order, and be back at your gate in under 5 minutes.
