La Pausa

Gate-side option in Terminal T

Inside Terminal T after security, La Pausa is one of the main sit-down spots before boarding at Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport. It sits in the general departures area, so you can reach it from any gate in T without changing levels. Expect standard Spanish café fare: sandwiches, pastries, coffee, soft drinks, beer, and some hot dishes, all served fast enough for a short layover.

Hours track the flight schedule at TFN, with La Pausa typically open from early morning check-in waves through the last departures in the evening. That means you can grab a café con leche and a croissant before the first inter-island flights, or a beer and a sandwich ahead of late flights to mainland Spain. If you land during a midday lull, service can slow down a bit as staffing thins out between banks of flights.

Pricing is airport-level but not outrageous for Spain: expect a coffee around €2–3, sandwiches in the €5–8 range, and beer roughly €3–4 depending on brand. You pay at the counter, then either wait for food or take it to a table in the shared seating area looking toward the Terminal T gates. Card payment is widely accepted, including contactless, so you do not need local cash for a quick stop.

Food is basic but serviceable. Cold bocadillos and tortillas usually arrive quickest, while any hot plate can run closer to 10–15 minutes during peak boarding times for TFN’s Iberia, Binter, or Canaryfly flights. If you are down to 30 minutes before departure from a nearby gate in T, stick to pre-made items from the display case and bottled drinks rather than cooked orders.

Practical tip: check your gate on the main departures board right next to the Terminal T central seating area before ordering at La Pausa, then sit facing the screens so you do not miss a last-minute gate change.
