Il Caffè di Roma

Gate-side coffee in T Terminal

Right in Terminal T’s departures area, Il Caffè di Roma is the main sit-down coffee spot once you’re past security at Tenerife Norte. It sits on the airside concourse, so you can keep one eye on boarding screens while you drink. Expect the usual Spanish airport rhythm here: morning rush from the first departures around 06:00, then a quieter stretch late morning.

Opening hours typically track the flight schedule, with Il Caffè di Roma open from the first wave of departures until early evening, roughly 06:00–21:00. If you have a 07:30 inter-island flight, you’ll have time for a quick espresso and pastry before boarding. Late-night options in TFN are thin, so don’t bank on this spot if you land after 22:00.

Prices sit in the standard Spain-airport range: a basic espresso usually lands around €1.50–€2, cappuccinos closer to €2.50, and pastries like croissants or napolitanas around €2–€3. A simple sandwich or bocadillo can run €4–€7, still cheaper than many mainland hubs. Card payments are accepted, and contactless is faster when the morning queue snakes toward nearby gates.

The safest order here is coffee plus something from the pastry case: espresso, cortado, or café con leche pairs well with a croissant or a sweet napolitana de chocolate. For a more filling option before a Binter or Canaryfly hop, grab a ham-and-cheese sandwich and skip anything that looks like it has been sitting under a heat lamp too long. This is a quick refuel stop, not a long lunch play.

Seats are close to neighbouring gates in Terminal T, so you’ll hear boarding calls clearly. Power outlets are limited, so charge devices at your gate afterwards. One practical move: order, take your tray, and sit facing the main departure screens; TFN sometimes shuffles gates within T, and you don’t want to miss a change while you’re on your second cortado.
