Citilink Lounge

1

Citilink Lounge sits in Terminal 1 and feels pretty bare-bones

This is an airline lounge in Terminal 1 at Juanda (SUB), and frequent flyers consistently call SUB lounges “Spartan.” One FlyerTalk regular even said it’s not worth getting to the airport earlier just for lounge time, which sets expectations right away: use it if access is bundled, don’t pay extra chasing an upgrade.

Citilink operates out of Terminal 1, so the lounge mainly serves Citilink passengers on domestic flights. Access usually comes via Citilink business/flex tickets, elite status, or an included card benefit tied to Terminal 1 airline lounges. If you’re already holding the right ticket or card, it’s a decent place to sit a bit away from the main hall; otherwise, you’re not missing a premium product by skipping it.

Reports on SUB lounges as a group mention basic seating, simple snacks, and limited hot food options rather than big buffets or bar service. Prices for paid walk-up access at similar Indonesian domestic lounges often land in the IDR 150,000–250,000 range, so use that as a mental benchmark before handing over cash at the door. There’s no strong evidence of made-to-order dishes, so assume chafing-dish staples and packaged items.

Several experienced travelers specifically mention that SUB lounges lack showers, and no one recalled a shower in any Terminal 1 facility. That means no chance to properly freshen up between, say, an early-morning arrival and a late-afternoon departure. There’s also no mention of nap rooms or dedicated quiet zones, so if you have a long layover of 4–5 hours, you’re probably better off walking the terminal a bit to keep from getting stiff.

Regulars on FlyerTalk and Facebook threads say they only use SUB lounges when access is already included on the boarding pass or via status, then spend 20–40 minutes inside before heading to the gate. Nobody reports timing their arrival to get an extra hour here, which tells you plenty. Treat it as a slightly calmer waiting room attached to Terminal 1, not a destination.

Practical tip: check your Citilink booking and card benefits before travel; if you’re not entitled to free entry in Terminal 1, sit in the public seating near your gate and save the IDR 150,000–250,000 for food in Surabaya instead.
