Drop your car at the Stansted terminal doors, walk to check-in
Stansted Valet Parking is true kerbside meet and greet: you pull up directly in front of the terminal building, hand over your keys to staff, and they drive your car off to a designated bay in the mid-stay car park. Pricing sits at the very top of Stansted’s options, above short stay and standard Meet & Greet, so you’re mainly paying for the zero-walk drop-off and return.
On departure, you stop at the terminal forecourt, complete the handover in a couple of minutes, and then head straight into check-in on the same level. Holiday Extras’ review video of Stansted Valet shows this clearly: bags out, paperwork done, and you’re walking into the terminal while someone else parks the car in mid-stay. Post-security, none of this matters, but door-to-desk speed at STN is where this product earns its premium.
On return, your car isn’t brought back to the exact kerb; instead, you collect it in the Meet & Greet pick-up area downstairs next to the short-stay car park. Regulars describe it as “pick up by the Meet & Greet area downstairs,” so expect a short walk down the ramps from arrivals, not a forecourt reunion. The car should be waiting in a marked bay, keys with staff on-site.
FlyerTalk users are blunt: Valet is “the most expensive option” at Stansted and doesn’t feel like good value for routine weekends compared with short stay or Meet & Greet. Some travellers also worry about staff driving their car to and from mid-stay, especially after reading reports of damage and theft, including a TripAdvisor post about a broken window and sat-nav theft linked to Stansted-area parking.
Regular business flyers tend to book Valet only for painful timings, like a 05:55 departure or landing close to midnight, or when the company is paying and every minute counts. Many who do use it take photos of the car at drop-off, including mileage and fuel level, as a basic audit trail. Do the same, and also keep your booking confirmation handy on your phone so the forecourt handover and Meet & Greet pick-up go quickly.
