Staff Car Park is for airport employees only, not passengers
The Staff Car Park at London Stansted Airport (STN) is a restricted facility tied to employee permits, not a public product you can book for your trip. It sits within the wider on-airport parking zone but is controlled by staff access systems and internal allocation rules, so ordinary travellers can’t just drive in, take a ticket, and park for the day.
Stansted’s Staff Car Park operates on long-term staff passes and internal contracts rather than the daily or weekly tariffs you see for the official Short Stay or Mid Stay car parks. If you’re flying out of STN and looking for somewhere to leave your car for 1–14 days, this staff-only area is not a backup option and will not show up on any public booking engine or comparison site.
The car park is managed by the same airport operator that runs Stansted’s public Long Stay and Mid Stay sites, but access is typically controlled via issued staff ID, registration plate recognition, or dedicated staff permits. Turning up at the barrier in a private car with just a boarding pass will not convert it into public parking, and you risk being turned away or ticketed if you try to use it as a shortcut.
For actual traveller parking at STN, you need one of the public products sold via the airport or off-airport providers: Short Stay by the terminal for same-day trips, Mid Stay for 3–7 nights, or Long Stay and off-site shuttles for cheaper multi-day parking. Start with your exact trip length in days, then compare prices between official Long Stay and at least one off-airport lot before you lock anything in.
